Glucosio is the italian word for glucose (sugar) which comes from the Greek word γλευκος (Sweet Wine). We picked Glucosio because glucose is an important part of tracking and managing diabetes and one of the most important metrics we use in Glucosio Project apps.
How did this project get started?
Glucosio Project was started by a long time free and open source software contributor who became diagnosed with diabetes and saw a gap in the free and open source ecosystem where there were no good apps for tracking glucose and metrics for people with diabetes. A group of other talented and passionate free and open source contributors quickly joined the effort to make Glucosio a reality and the rest is history.
